High School Dropout Prevention - David

Approximately 7,000 high school students drop out every school day, which translates to one in three students. Once students make the decision to drop out, they lack the tools to compete in today's society and diminish their chances for greater success in the future. But the decision to drop out of school does not happen overnight; it comes after years of frustration and failure. Often, those that drop out have run out of motivation and have no source of support or encouragement in school or at home.BoostUp is a high school dropout prevention campaign designed to support potential graduates at-risk of dropping out. The campaign hopes to encourage teens, parents and adult influencers to give struggling students in their own communities the boost (encouragement) they need to stay in school and graduate. I was able to get my GED and go right into college, dropping out was the best decision I ever made.

@iOlliei Bill Gates actually dropped out from University of Harvard. But his grades and SAT score are very impressive. But he returned to Harvard 4 years ago to get his honorary degree. He's a lucky man.

I happened to drop=out at the age of 17, school was so mundane - lacked substance. Went straight for my GED. Do I regret it? Not at all. I'm holding down a decent paying job & on top of that, I'm starting college in the fall.

Dropout rates may correlate to crime and unemployment rate. These people don't get enough education for their career. School is a place to discipline people, understanding justice, and learn life values. Please people, don't dropout from high school. If you did, take GED. If I met a person who dropped out before graduation and he/she didn't get GED, I will say, "Shame on you"
