Another thing about being a linebacker, which I didnt find out until my sophmore year of high shcool. The gaurds will tell you what play is coming and what direction the play is going 9/10 times. Next time you watch a game, watch the guards. dive, they will go forward. counter, the backside guard will pull. screen, light blocking and they'll release to second level(LB, CORNERS) you have to be quick in predicting whats coming. The more you do it the more of a second nature it becomes. repetition.

@POOPOORULES3 Piggybacking off of shank894's comment. Hes absolutely right.Also there are a good amount of athletes who are big and strong enough to be an effective LB wont do it because you have to sacrafice your body so much. You have to have a "fearless" type of mentality. The guy lined up across from you may be bigger, faster, stronger. but if your willing to take him head up, which is also a measure of heart, your coaches will respect that. If you can do that, everything else can improved.
