not trying to hate or anything, she is damn strong and does a good job, but to the people saying she has perfect form- are you only watching on the way up?? her form on the way down doesn't look too good to me, she's just bending forward and rounding her lower back... could definitely lead to injury for her.

Of course a lot of people will say YES! YOU NEED TO JUMP, but right now there is some controversy. The current coach of the U.S. Olympic team advocates a flat footed "catapult" as opposed to the normal method known as the "triple extension".

Is it odd for me to do this exercise without the jump? I don't ever see the need to jump even with heavy loads... I may just be doing the exercise wrong then but any input would be well appreciated xD

i used to have a similar problem- i would slam it on my clavicle. now i focus on keeping my upper arms parallel to the floor which creates a kind of shelf/rack with my anterior deltoids. it's also almost impossible (for me, anyway) to maintain a tight grip when the bar's racked on your ant delts. maybe if you try not placing the bar so far back toward your throat & instead on your shoulders, that would help. like i said, think of your anterior deltoids as the shelf/rack. works for me :)

this looks dangerous :x

When I catch the bar, I have a tendency to slam the bar into the bottom of my throat when I let go of the grip as shown. The bar won't do that if I catch it with a tight grip, but of course that will force my elbows to stay at my sides = bad form.I've just been doing high pulls instead, but after seeing this video, I want to try hang-cleans again. If only I could figure out what i'm doing wrong.
